I just upgraded to XP Home edition. I tried a system backup. It asked for 15 CDs. Now 15X700MB, that is 10,500MB! Is that normal?
Is there a 'compressed' option I could use for backing up? Will appreciate for any infomation.
Thank you all.

As far as I remember in Windows Backup Wizard there is an opportunity to backup only selected files however I think that you choose an entire hard drive backup. And there is no wonder that XP suggested you to insert so many CDs.

The better way is to use external drive. But I don't trust MS backup. I prefer Acronis True Image. It is a great utility that will allow you to perform any backup operation. With True Image you can backup your entire system or separated files and program settings. Learn more about True Image here: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/

Hope it will help!
