I bought an Asda cheapy DVD player for £18. It worked but had faint lines going across the screen. Thi is with a normal 'any old scart lead'. As it only cost £18 i bought a phillips 9ct gold scart lead for £13. The lines dissapeared! If it had not of worked i would have returned the player and got my money back but would have kept the lead for something else.

If youre running it up to 2 metres away then just try any old lead. If the picture is good enough for you then you'll sav ea few quid. If its not so good then invest in a better lead. Most more expensive leads are a complete rip off so try the cheap one first.

Generally they're all the same from a connectivity point of view, but they differ in quality, the more expensive, the better the quality, or so they claim.
