Well, it really depends on the person's relationship to the girl, as well as how elaborate a party it is. I would always strive to give at least enough to cover my meal. Although since there are usually tons of school mates invited, I wouldn't expect them to give as much as say, an adult relative/friend. I would say as a school friend, 50 dollars is appropriate enough.

How close are you to the family? I'd say between $100.00 & $500.00 depending on your closeness to the family. But I'm not jewish, so I don't know the standard or "rule" it's just simpley my opinion.
