While watching the news on the morning after Saddam was hung,I thought that the Queen was dead or some great British person had passed away. The BBC were in a state of shock and mourning.Even Al Jazera would not of been as bad as these people. After they had finished the story of his death the news reader perked up and announced"more British lives had been lost in Iraq.I am not paying my tv licence when it comes through the door later this month.I felt sick at this rubbish stupid crap BBCnews,Any one else notice this as well as me?

Someone died. If the BBC played a fanfare and newscasters read the news with glee then I would consider it extremely distasteful, despite it being the end of a dictator. Also, remember that Britain does not support the death penalty- if we did for one person rather than another then we would be hypocritical.

The BBC are well know for their appropriate response to news articles, sombre was appropriate for this occasion. Regardless of what we feel about Saddam, he will appear in the history books as a leader of men just like Mussolini and Hitler have.

I've a feeling you'd have said this regardless of what the BBC's mood was when announcing the execution.
You're barking up the wrong tree if you're trying to use that very American accusation of a "liberal media" over here.
Broadcasting laws dictate that news programmes in Britain must be unbiased (unlike America).
As a result BBC is one of the fairest news corporations in the world.
Sometimes a sombre mood is appropriate, even with the death of a tyrant.

I live in Colorado, USA.

We watch BBC news! Satellite or on DSL.

Level headed unbiased coverage seems what they provide.

Sorry you have to have a license to watch TV, what that Bond 007 has a license as well? Perhaps he can drop by and shoot your TV?

THE BBC IS LIKE AMERICA'S CNN. THEY USE TO BE A GOOD SOURCE FOR NEWS BUT THE ARE ONE SIDED NOW. CNN AND AL JAAZERA ARE THE SAME.
