She is not the best drawer and I would say that she is more abstract. She does have a very good eye for fashion and can draw that way. I want to continue to encourage her and get her materials that she can use. And something to keep her thinking about this options seriously.

Thank you to anyone who can help or give suggestions.

I would like to suggest going to your local dollar store for supplies. My son enjoys drawing and I get his paper there. I would not suggest chalk because they really can't get the drawing right that way.

I would also suggest going to a library and getting drawing books. That way she can see how to draw if she's really into it. Also when the school [if your school does it] has book sales to buy some. Our school has those little fliers sent home to buy books and has two book sales a year. I've gotten my son about 20 drawing books and they show more wear and tear than all the rest of the toys and things he gets. He loves them. You can find them on anything she's interested in.

I buy my son sketch books at the dollar store so we don't have lots of paper. My son will honestly go through 500 pages of printing paper a month. I know because I have seen it. It's crazy, then all that paper builds up. The sketch books are good because she can see how she's improved as she's drawn.

I bought my daughter a miniature sewing machine and supplies with materials that she picked out and then there is the sketch pads, construction paper, glues, crayons and markers, beads, pasties, ribbons, frills and lace. The list is practically endless. The ideas that child had and the designs that she made!!!! It is VERY important to continuously encourage your childs dreams and support her no matter what but don't smother her and take the joy out of it. I made sure to let her have her way with this and she blossomed!

I say one day go shopping together and buy some fabric and let her pick it then with your supervision let her so a pillow or maybe you could do it for her, then just let her draw on the pillow, so that when she's sleeping on it or just around it she can remember her dream and her talent... her tallent making that pillow with her artwork....... and paint by numbers are always good, that way she has the layout of a picture and all she has to do is paint. And maybe at Walmart they have cheap boultin boards, let her paint one and maybe hang them up somewhere where it won't bother anyone or just hang one up to show your support. With love and support it will show her that you do care about her dream(s) and she will be proud..... and keep following her dream.

Why not sign her up for an art class?
My almost 6 year old takes classes at the local art center. They offer classes there from preschool to adult.

well i use a home study program from Art Instuction Schools. at 10 years old she may be a little too young to enroll but you might want to check it out. they teach everything from realistic drawing to painting to cartooning to fashion drawing (which she might like). i'm not sure how old you have to be to enroll... i think maybe like 14. here is their website. check it out. http://www.artists-ais.com/ hope it helps!

Try collectionsetc.com --- they have a few kits (pencils, chalk, etc) and then you just have to go get her some drawing paper.

Here is just one of their pages:

Try buying her that plug and play game that is advertised on TV. It lets you design your own clothes, put them on models, and then the models walk down the runway with your clothes.
