Windows Vista isn't so good. It's still under construction, but it will come out on January 30, 2007. Still, don't get it. It has many bugs in it and many people are complaining and some even get new computers. Stick with Windows XP. Vista requires expensive hardware, so I would only get Vista around September 2007.

Windows Vista is much easier to use than is XP. However, it has a higher price point and still has some issues with compatibility. I would recommend that you wait at least 6 months after the initial release to purchase a copy of it. However, if you have an Express Upgrade coupon, go ahead and use it when you can. Vista will be great for the home user, but the business user will not see any advantages from it for several years until the proprietary software that many of them use are updated to be compatible with Vista.

I have Vista x64 rtm I could not be happier,20 minutes from disk in to desktop. Vista found every single one of my devices ,except my creative SB x-fi.
Compare to XP home which I just installed on my sons laptop, there was 58 updates before service pack 2 installed, then there where an additional 28 more down loads after that.
So far I installed 7 windows updates.5 (important) 2 (recommended)

As per the reviews, it looks good. We really will know once it is launched end of this month. If you have original Windows XP SP2, download "Windows Vista upgrade advisor" from Microsoft and check your system is ready for Vista or not. Because it may not eccept some of the hardwares or softwares. Prepare yourself to upgrade before time.
Good luck.

Windows Vista is supposed to be really improved over Windows XP. However, there are some things you need to think about before upgrading. In order to experience Vista fully, you will need a minimum of 2G of ram, you will need a lot of hard drive space, and you may have to upgrade a lot of your drivers. Windows Vista says it requires only 512M of ram to install. In reality, you will need four times that much to use its features. Be cautious.
