i have meat frozen, still in the wrapper, in my freezer, but the sell by dates are 11/30/06 for the chicken and 12/30/06 for the pork. are they okay to cook and eat?

If they've been frozen, they're fine. Keeping meat properly frozen is more important than using it by the date stamped on the package.

Remember: food companies print the dates they're lawyers tell them. They are over-conservative with the date. If stored properly, your food will last longer. Check it before you eat it - if it smells bad (rare if stored properly), then toss.

be careful about eating old food make sure you cook chicken and pork all the way through or you can get very sick

as long as they were frozen ........... the sell by date is a guyideline only . always smell and check color of your meat . always cook til well done . ......... oh_hell

you can usually freeze meats for up to six months. if you froze them before the expiration date on the package, that is. if you froze it after the date, throw it out!
