Well it depends on personal preference. I think Cuban cigars are just plain overrated. They're just popular because it's hard to come across one, but trust me, there are better ones out there that are legal. Cubans, in general, are a bit too spicy for me. For example, just a hop away from Cuba, I think the Dominican Republic has one of the best cigars. They tend to be smoother, rich but not too full, with hints of chocolate and coffee and sometimes champagne, and produce a beautiful smoke. I prefer ones with a Cameroon wrapper, Dominican binders and fillers, although South American (Ecuador and Nicaragua) binders and fillers are fine as well. So, like fine wine where one year its bank for a bottle but broke the next... There is no, ONE, cigar I think is the best.

I'm not sure the best ever, I can tell you only what I have had. Montecristo # 2,Cohiba Corona Especiale, Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill, Punch Rothschild, Punch Care Royale. All these were memorable due to the people I was with and the mood I was in. I had a few pre-ban Cubans from an old friends humidor, outstanding. I forget what they were exactly I think they we some sort of Cohiba. Incredible!
