I believe Christains will come back to the earth to reign with Christ for a 1000 years. After this time, comes the great white thrown, in other words judgement day. This will be rewards for christians, and eternal punishment for non-believers. Then comes the rest of eternity for christians in the kingdom of heaven. The reason for Jesus was the sacrifice for our sins, and since everyone is guilty of breaking them its important you are found with Jesus, otherwise their is no hope. Because God will punish sin.
I haven't had a personal experience with death, although my dad had a near death experience, when he had a heart attack. His heart stoped several times, but he recalls feeling at ease. My grandfather started to see people that were dead, at his death.

Another important aspect is whats going to happen now and in the future. The answers to this as well as science can all be shown in the bible. http://endtime.com/
And the science that proves Christianity

I can see that you are new!this question is asked about every
other day.You will get the usual )soul lives on)(soul is immortal)
(Soul goes to heaven)But those are unscriptual answers. The
Bible plainly states that the soul(human life) does die.Eccl.9:5-
"For the living are conscious that they willdie, but as for the dead, theyare
conscious of NOTHING at all, neither do they have anymore wages,
because the rememberence of them has been forgotten."
Gen.2:7-"and the man became a living soul."When a person dies
thats it.If he/she is to live again it will be in the resurrection on the
last day.

I believe the soul goes to one of the many worlds (realms, afterlives) depending on how you lived your life, not what god you worshiped. I also believe that some souls are reborn while some are reabsorbed.

Personally, I hope to go to one of the many halls in Asgard. Although, I doubt I'll go to Valhalla because I am not a warrior I think it would be cool to feast with Odin. I suspect I'll be going to Thor's hall in Asgard because he is my primary God I honor and I am close to him.

The Norse afterlife is pretty cool in my opinion. You get to feast and drink, basically have a good old time and met up with all your loved ones that have passed on. It is much different then the Christian heaven. I don't have to just imagine what it looks like because the Eddas and Sagas go into vivid detail and in my religion you can actually travel there by practicing Seith (think Shamanism).

According to Buddhism you go through an "intermediate state" called the "bardo" where you see various things, and sense various things an depending on how well you've cultivated your mind to be free of grasping and attachments, aversions and so on (or not), combined with your karmic imprints depends on what rebirth you take.

Possibilities according to Buddhist teaching: pretas (hungry ghosts), deva realm (gods and goddess-like beings who are NOT omnipotent and omniscient), hell realms, animal/insect, etc., human rebirth, and so forth... many more.

A good book if you want to research further is by Sogyal Rinpoche "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying" and other books on the subject can be found via WisdomPubs.org and SnowLionPub.com and other Dharma bookstores online.

Whatever you believe will happen, will happen. Viking near death experiencers spoke of finding themselves in Valhalla-ancient Greek near death experiencers found themselves crossing the Styx. Whatever illusion or belief you have you will experience but it will be an illusion. Spiritual enlightenment is the only true reality and in spiritual terms that is a million miles beyond the illusion of heaven.

The Right to Enter Paradise

Death is inevitable. The thief on the cross knew when his would occur, but we can not predict our own. After his death, the crucified criminal went to live in paradise with Jesus. Some of us will also live eternally in God's presence. But others will experience everlasting torment, forever separated from Him.
If we receive Jesus as our Savior, our penalty for sin is paid. We are adopted into God's family, and Heaven is our eternal home. If we reject Jesus, we remain alienated from the Lord and under condemnation for our sin. We are destined to experience eternal judgment. God won't accept any of man's excuses because there is no acceptable defense for unbelief. (Acts 4:12)
Become part of God's family today. Acknowledge your sinfulness, and express your faith in these words:
"God, I have sinned against You. (Romans 3:23) I've followed my own way and refused to give You the right to rule in my life. (Romans 3:10-12) I recognize I am separated from You and cannot rescue myself. I do believe that Jesus Christ is Your Son. I accept the truth of the Scriptures? that His death on the cross paid my sin-debt in full. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) And I ask You to forgive me of my sins. (1 John 1:9) By faith, I receive You, Lord Jesus, as my personal Savior from this moment on."
If you just spoke those words to God, then, like the thief on the cross, you have received salvation? a gift of God's grace. The heavenly Father welcomes every person who comes to Him through His Son, regardless of background, age, or current situation. Through Jesus, the right to enter paradise is yours!

You die, your spirit and intelligence separates from your body. You meet God, then go to the 'spirit world' (which just happens to be earth) either spirit paradise or 'prison'. Your same thoughts, personality, abilities go with you. You enjoy association with others, interaction, etc. Eventually everyone will be ressurrected, you get your body back, but perfected and never to die or be separated again. You will go to one of many 'kingdoms', Heavens if you will, not everyone will receive the same reward. The best is to live with God of course.

In a nutshell: my unsubstantiated belief of the after life is when we depart this physical realm, we go into the spiritual world where our emotions, our intellect, thoughts, and all that which makes up our internal selves will exist. I also believe in what you sow is what you reap...hmmm...

I believe in reincarnation. Your soul travels to another pile of experience. Another life, another name, another gender. This is a journey, a spiritual one.

Question is, what happens when you complete all experience about material realm?
