lol! I live in Michigan and I know from friends in California and Florida that it is all up in the nose. Think nasally. I found a website that gives some pronunciations of words from actual Michiganders. (i don't know if i agree with all of them lol, but the majority is correct) http://www.michigannative.com/ (go to "Michigan Accent") this website also gives some phrases that we michigan people use. You can also go to http://web.ku.edu/idea/northamerica/usa/michigan/michigan.htm and download some free samples of Michigan people talking. You might be able to practice then! Hope this helps you! And good luck!

To tell you the truth, most Midwesterners speak the most un-accented of all the regions in the US. If you wanted to pick a place with an accent, try either Chicago ( http://www.yorku.ca/earmstro/speech/dialects/chicago/index.html ), Minnesota (see the movie Fargo), or Wisconsin.

Most of my extended family is from Michigan and I can say that they really don't have an accent (like most newscasters across the country).

I could help you if you gave an example of some of the lines you have, but it's kinda hard to just randomly tell you this is how you say whatever word..

Haha, okay, it's not too hard. Just over enunciate everything (ex: New Orleans becomes New OrLEENS). Nasally is good, but don't overdo it.
