Chemo can take several hours so bring a good book or if you have a lap top you can bring that and watch a movie. Where I went they had a TV but the reception wasn't very good. You will sit in a very comfortable recliner chair and will be administered some pre-meds, which will consist of steroids and antihistimines to help your body better tolerate the chemo drugs. All this will be done intravenously. You can talk to other patients getting chemo, get up to use the bathroom, if needed. Even have something to eat or drink. You may feel a little naseous or get antsy or drowsey. The medical staff will be there with you and will closely monitor how you respond to the medications. It would be a very good idea to bring a friend who will drive you home afterwards, at least for the first time, just until you know how your body will respond. Some people get very sleepy.

I went through chemo and radiation 2 1/2 years ago for breast cancer. The drugs might be different for the different types of cancer but the process is similar.

One of the things that kept me going when I felt up to it was being intimate with my partner. Even if we didn't have sex, the close bond and touching is very healing.

Good luck to you. If you want someone to talk to, please contact me.

I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis. I just finished 4 rounds of chemo for breast cancer, stage 1. I would highly recommend praying & doing some deep introspection during this challenging time. Turn it into a positive opportunity to address your lifestyle & choices & quite possibly righting wrongs with family. Trust me, I know this is easier said than done & I am not judging but overall you need peace of mind as much as possible right now. Outside of that, don't have any expectations because all people react differently physically depending on the drugs, amount of them and your overal tolerance. Surround yourself with those that are truly supportive & there for you. God Bless!

I had friend go through chemo when he found out he had testicular cancer, expect to get sick he said it felt like the flu especially the first few times, honestly he said smoking weed was the only thing that got him through it cause the weed would dull his pain and give him an appetite- good luck and a speedy recovery

what is the name of the drug?

I'm currently on taxol and have had adriamycin and cytoxin. All are horrible. It depends on your dose as well. I've seen women in the IV room eating, talking on the phone, using ipods.

When I go I have to get drugged up because I throw up otherwise. Just bad associations from being on high dose adriamycin.

May God help you. Ask for His forgiveness that's Allah. As far as Chemotherapy is concerned no special management is required, only the common side effects are abdominal discomfort , nausea, vertigo, vomiting and diarrhea, and later loss of hair. This will disappear with time. NO SEX.
I hope it's the last chance Allah has given you so revert to Muslim as all prophets (pbut), and follow Islam strictly. go to Mecca & Medina and drink Water there called ZUM ZUM, remember only Muslims are allowed.

Um, I wouldn't be worrying about sex and/or dating right now.

Why has your family abandoned you? Or did you cut them off? Sounds really dramatic to me. You need to get your priorities straight.
