This is the kind of question I love...because the answer is so simple!
Ask any wine connoisseur, and they will all tell you the same thing. Their favorite wine. Yep, a different answer every time. So thats the answer...your favorite wine!
General rule of thumb used to be, white wine for pale foods, red wine for dark foods. Blush wine for those of us that want it to look like we're drinking fruit juice so our significant others don't get suspicious, and the undecided.
But in todays society, only elitist snob restuarents (the ones that won't let me in because I can't afford an appetizer and delight in telling other restaurent goers what their french food REALLY is, and what body part it came from) hold to that. Now a days, it is whatever wine you like, with whatever food you like.

Considering the portobello mushrooms, which are very meaty, combined with the odd sweetness and saltiness of imitation crab (which is processed pollack fish), I am going against the crowd and recommending a medium to a light red instead. Maybe a merlot, zinfandel, or even a Burgundy.

Ecco Domoni Pino Grigio. Very crisp, clean taste, without overpowering the flavor of the dish.
By the way, YUM, your mushrooms sound divine!

I would choose a rose or chablis. Go to a wine store and ask for a free tasting. But any favorite wine of your partner's would work.

All white wines with Seafood.......check out Charles Shaw white wines. It's a $3 dollar wine that fools even wine critics into thinking it's a $70dollar wine.
good luck on your date!
