Maybe they're afraid you are going to expose their false teachings.

Because from what I have seen many of them think theirs is the only religion out there. Some have posted questions asking why "Heathens" are in this "Christian Chat".
I agree with what you say about Jesus, I doubt the man would go around telling people they are going to burn.
I find it amusing that if someone who has a different religion answers an open question honestly and states that they aren't Christian, the Christians come along and give their answer the thumps down.

I think a lot of the questions that upset Christians are meant to. It's not like they are real questions wanting real answers to enlighten the person asking. They are questions that are meant to insult or belittle and to get an angry response. So, it's really the desired outcome.
I am a Christian, and I can only speak for myself, but I don't really get angry at any of the questions. Sometimes the trolling is annoying but it is on all sections.

I'm glad you added the details. Absolutes are never taken well! There's a lot of anger in R&S. It would be nice if thoughtful, civil questions were always answered in the same manner, without telling us we're going to go to hell, but providing information from their perspective as they "see" it. It won't happen often. But it DOES! I wish this weren't a forum for so much bashing (both sides of the aisle) but people will be people. Just "sift" through nonsense as I do, & focus on the best that's there.

They don't seem to be able to differentiate between the real questions and the ones that are obviously intended to stir up trouble. The Scripture says to "not cast your pearls (of wisdom) before swine", and " But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, for they doth gender strife (cause trouble)." They simply get angry instead of turning the other cheek, not to be insulted more, but to "shake the dust off their feet as a testimony against them" as the Scripture says they should do.

You are partly correct. A true Christian is not in the position to judge someone, as that job lies with Jesus. If someone does judge they will be judges accordingly. However, if someone is merely stating what they believe the teachings of their faith are, and that proclaimed punishment for acting against the teachings, then they are not judging. It is a fine line, but when it comes down to it it is the statement and intent that matters. If people are judging, and getting angry, then they need to work on their insecurity and temper.

Not all christians become angry, but many were taught to react emotionally to any kind of questioning. This starts when they have questions themselves, and learn how to turn off their rational faculties. When they get older, they learn not to question their faith, and react irrationally (of course) to any questioning from someone else.
Again, not all people become angry at questions. Some are pretty good at giving the obligatory answers such as "mysterious ways," "misinterpretation," "not literal," and "because God says so."

Your question is right. Some of us Christians, lose our patience when we are asked a religious question. Maybe because we don´t know the answer and assume everyone else does, or we know the answer and think everyone should, too. Now put another cheek just because...

You shouldn't taunt people if you are going to get all pouty when they insult you back...you should have learned that much back in the fourth grade.
Try to understand that Christians are just people, like anyone else. They mess up just as much as anyone else.
The BIG difference is...they have a Savior.

The more extreme ones seem to find any kind of questioning of their faith to be insulting. And so do the ones who like to insult members of other Christian sects! They are such a credit to their saviour. They make me proud to be pagan!
