I consider myself Conservative in my views and take the bible literally.

Where I would assume someone who is liberal in their view would compromise or take what they want from the bible and pass over what they don't.

It is sometime difficult to define a liberal from a Conservative. I believe you can generally say that conservatives are mostly for sticking to the older tried and true ways while liberals are for forging ahead with new untried ideas. But both liberals and concertize sometimes prefer going with the other side. for example capitol punishment is generally a Conservative idea but many liberals agree with it. And some conservatives are against capitol punishment. I for example am against it but only because I think it is too light a punishment. And many conservatives voted for the liberal party in the last elections. Nobody interprets the bible exactly the same. Liberals are more likely to accept exceptions to certain interpretations. Liberals are more likely to be Atheist but there are exceptions. I for example am an Atheist. BB

a conservative would be just that...more 'conservative' about their moral decisions, their voting choices, tending to tighten their belts and not let it all hang out

a liberal would be a lot looser with their choices in life. In the mind of a liberal there is alot more lee-way to play with allowing for things to not be so strict.

They are relative and subjective terms. Everybody thinks they are middle of the road and everyone else is either conservative or liberal relative to them.

a conservative errs on the side of following to the letter and not allowing for outside thinking such as adjusting things in the bible to suit the times,eg sex before marriage is ok if you love you each other would be wrong for a conservative a a liberal would accept this because they would say God wants you to love this person adn love involves sex.

Christianity is NOT about "ethics". The word isn't even mentioned in the Bible. It is about knowing God and His love.

Liberal and Conservatives are also words not in the Bible.
This makes these words mean WHATEVER the one who uses them to mean.

Meanings usually get close to the following:

CONSERVATIVE CHRISTIANS:
Those who believe that gave the words of the Bible to instruct us about ourselves and Him.

LIBERAL CHRISTIANS:
Those who believe that man wrote the Bible to state their understandings of who God is.

THERE IS A LOT OF LATTITUDE IN THESE DEFINITIONS.
