My sister once took wellbutrin for depression and an aid to help her quit smoking.
But she said she had to get off it ASAP because it made her "very very nervous, like she wanted to clime the walls" or something. She said it was a horrible experience. She took it for 2 days.
(but I never heard of anyone else complain about this possible side effect)
What about you? Did you experience this EVER w/wellbutrin whether it was in the beginning of taking this med, or any time down the line of using it?

I was prescribed wellbutrin for panick attacks and depression the doctor told me to take one when ever i felt one coming on and if it didnt work to take another one, well I ended up in the E.R. getting my stomached pumped because the wellbutrin made the panick attacks so bad it made me want to take anything and everything i could find to stop them. So the doctor told me that Wellbutrin isnt for panicky people and can never be used for an anti anxiety medicaine because it will make you so crazy that you think you are dying. which I did. So I stopped taking wellbutrin! A very good way to help with depression and this is really weird but my new doctor told me that fish oil pills help with depression but only in women.

I've had a very good experience with this medication and have been on it for 8 years. I never had any problems like that with it, in fact the only side effects I had were loss of appetite for a short time after initially starting it and hot flashes when the dose was too high for me. It's actually been one of the most helpful with fewest side effects out of 19 meds I've tried.

It can increase anxiety and irritability, it's some of the more common side effects. It didn't for me, but what you are describing would make sense.

Southrn...are you sure it was Wellbutrin you were prescribed? That would not make any sense at all, that's crazy if a doctor actually gave you that advice. No wonder you ended up in the hospital.
It is not a good medication to treat anxiety and it is not a take-as-needed medication at all. You are never supposed to take more than 450 mg of it in a day. There are meds that are used "take as needed", but this is definitely not one of them.

I am on it currently (for about a month now), and the first week and a half was terrible. I could hardly drive. I couldnt see the sides of the road, it was like my vision was blurred. I felt very panicky and my mind was always racing. My doctor prescribed me to take only one pill once a day for the first week then increase to two a day after. I never increased yet. I was too scared, and so far I feel better than ever on just that small dose. Maybe she was taking too big of a dose. I hope she is ok now!

Yep. But most of the time it seems that they're those with a deficient self snapshot ... they feel that by means of making anybody else consider small, they will seem greater. Well, that and a few persons are simply jerks.
