I'm under the impression you don't understand why your Ex asked you if you looked in the mirror recently. See, you insulted him by telling him his new girl looked like a guy (which I think you said just to be mean). Your Ex took the high road and asked "have you looked in the mirror recently?". What your Ex means by that is that your not perfect either. Your Ex is aware his new girl isn't perfect, no one is, including you. Another way of putting it is your Ex told you "your not all that either". Sounds like you started it and he finished it. If you want to be the bigger person now (which I highly reccommend) then just drop it and move on. Quit wasting your energy on this and spend it on getting yourself a new man.
