if i check in for my Southwest flight online, what is the procedure for getting my checking my luggage when i get to the airport? Or do I get to print something off for that too?

It depends on the airport.

In San Diego, they have curb service check-in. You show your eTicket and drop your bags off with a skycap. In several other airports I've departed from, you have to wait in line to check the bags. USUALLY, it's a separate, smaller line though, and moves quickly.

No, actually, in many airports that is not true. Several avoid the desk, check at the curb, and you show your ID and ticket at the security check-in line. I've flown many times and never visted the desk at all, and checked my bags at the curb as outlined above. Check with your Southwest agent at the airport you are departing from for a definitive answer.

Southwest Airlines does not have assigned seats. If you have a couple of friends, they could check your parents in via online.

you still have to go to the desk, have your credit card ready for check in procedures, they will check your bags.
