No. I could see a case for those who are saying blacks, Jews, or pagans (although pagan is not a single group). I think gays would also be pretty high up there. I can't believe some people are actually answering Christians, who were pretty seriously persecuted for about 300 years and have since been doing most of the persecuting since. No, on second thought, I can believe some people would think that. Why is it that people glamorize victims so much?

I think there's a lot of stigma in our society about atheism, but I don't think being stigmatized is the same as being persecuted--certainly not the most persecuted in history. And in times and places where really serious persecution is going on, I think atheists would have a much easier time hiding it than would those whose faith required proselytyzing, or dietary restrictions.

I doubt that they are. Pagans (witches) on the other hand have been persecuted for much of history. They are still persecuted, because people don't understand them or think of them as devil worshippers, well in that case you have to believe in the devil to worship it now don't you. If you are an atheist, then so be it, but if you believe in a higher power of some sort then you really aren't an atheist, because you actually have some sort of belief system. If you don't and someone puts you down for how you believe, then maybe they are the one with the problem. It's like being afraid of the unknown, alot of people are like that, they don't want to read or listen to find out the answers as to why someone believes the way they do and that's on them. It's of no fault of yours as to how someone thinks of the way you believe or don't believe. Don't let someone change you, because they don't understand. Be who you are, as long as it is not hurting anyone, including yourself.
Hope this helps and best of luck to you in all things, large or small.

Absolutely not. They're probably one of the most persecuted groups in modern western society, but definitely not the most persecuted in history.

I'm with Frankie on this one.

The Jews have been persecuted by numerous groups from the beginning of recorded history.

No. I assume your thinking about the Crusades/Inquisition. The Crusades were a defense of Jerusalem by invading Muslims and then it was corrupted by zealous catholics. The inquisition was also a corruption of zealots not heeding the words of Jesus. Christians/Jews are continually being persecuted everywhere they go. Take China for example. Christian talks about Jesus, bam he's in jail/beaten. Atheists can go wherever they please and not be worried about people beating them for believing.

I don't know if we are the "most" persecuted people. We rise above the persecution and we have history and science on our side.

Nope. Ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition?

Pagan, Wiccan, Witchcraft. Then, perhaps atheists.

No. African descent and Jewish people are. And if you checked history it's the Christians who were persecuted more for their religious beliefs.
