Take her to the vet to get checked, esp. bloodwork, it could be a kidney problem or the beginning of diabetes. This is the way my cat started out...12 yrs is getting elderly for a cat, most cats live between 12-15 yrs.
You may need to give her a special food for "geriatric" (that is, old) cats, gentler on her digestion. Royal Canin makes a very good range of cat food and has a special one for older and neutered cats. They also have an information hotline which is v. helpful and friendly.
Best of luck!

She might have some hairballs that she is trying to cough up because I know that my kittens cough up the hairball and then vomit 5-6 times and so you might want to get her some treats that say "Hairball control" on the cover. If the cats stomach makes a popping sound when it's about to vomit again it definitely means that she's just having hairball issues and it's nothing to worry about but also she could be sick because of old age and you might want to have her checked by a vet.
Hope I could help!

Take the cat to the vet once achieveable. one among my former cats (19) by way of the years were given undesirable kidneys, and become continuously ill if she had even extremely of milk. would nicely be various of issues, i'm no longer a vet or some thing yet when that become you being ill you would possibly want to go see a healthcare professional to seek ideal help and suggestion. benefit this, or you are able to reget it. best of success

I'm wondering if she's licking/cleaning herself at night and in the morning she's trying to remove hairballs. Try brusing her really good before you go to bed and see how much hair you remove, I have to brush my cats daily or they will vomit all the time even with a hairball formula cat food. Just try for a bit and see if it makes a differnce in the vomiting. Good luck and if it doesn't it's time to see a vet.

Could be hair balls. I use petromalt on my cat. Or could be the food is not agreeing with the pet any longer. If you try switching food or using petromalt and neither work try a vet it may be a more serious issue.

she may be sick, take her in, vomiting in an elderly cat can be seriouse. also try giving less food, when the food is dry and then they drink watre the food expands and can cause them to throw up, try feeding the same amount of food just little portions at a time! good luck to you and your kitty

Do you have any house plants, or is she an outdoor cat? My cat used to do that, and I found out she was munching on one of my house plants at night because she was hungry. That made her sick, so she'd throw it up. I started leaving a snack for her out overnight, and she stopped throwing up, and stopped eating my plants. Its also possible that your cat does most of her grooming overnight, and she's throwing up hairballs. Hope that helps!

I'd suggest contacting your vet. It could be an illness or other condition, or she may be eating something that isn't agreeing with her.
