That's not a weird phobia...that's called being human! No one... not mothers or dads or grandparents or doctors or day care providers EVER get used to the sight, smell or sound of someone being ill. You may learn to tolerate it, but it never is pleasant.
Weird phobia, on the other hand, is my fear of having someone in the back seat of my car. I can barely function if there are more than two folks in my backseat. I have been in the car with a friend in his VERY small Plymouth Horizon years ago with my own two kids in the back. I weirded out so badly that he had to pull over, let me call a cab to take ME the rest of the way, and he took my kids to where we were going. THAT'S weird phobia!! LOL

noone likes vomit. yes it can become a phobia. there are some ppl like my aunt that when she sees someone vomitting she will start vomitting herself. that is an extreme phobia she has. atleast u r saying u cant be around that person since u think u will get sick. that is a phobia too. so to prevent that just dont be around them.

You are probably afraid that you will get the germ (or virus) that is causing the person to vomit so you get freightened.
Sounds like a normal reaction to me unless people around you are vomiting all of the time--then it may be time to get new friends.

I actually have a similiar thought about this. It isn't weird at all! All I do it take a minute to realize that you CAN'T get sick from someone else vomiting, it's purely impossible. It is NOT contagious. Just try to understand how they must be feeling. The best thing to try is to try and help the person who is ill, and understand how they must feel. Have compassion, and don't be afraid of it. I know it looks and sounds GROSS, (I know how you feel), but seriously, the best remedy is compassion for that person. Just take a deep breath and relax. Hope this helps.

My best friend from when I was 11 had the exact same phobia! If anyone was sick she would scream and cry and run away.
She had a few phobias and when I recently got back in touch with her she said she was seeing a hypnotherapist about it.

Sometimes it's a symptom of OCD. Don't worry about it though; most normal people have a few mild obsessive compulsive tendencies. You can try to desensitize yourself by watching movies where people vomit and not looking away during those scenes.

I don't think it is a phobia. (???)
It may be a mental trigger for you to trigger the adrenalin so you can react to the disgusting scene or event,
You can barf across the room, I hear it or see it or smell it,,, I just barfed.
