Finally, the name Xtians give him is "Yeshuah, not yashuah." We as Jews aren't supposed to be saying the name anyways because he is a foreign idol/god. He is the reason our people were murdered for centuries. He is the reason our children are attacked with Bibles and quotes and "his blood is on you and your family" if we cannot afford to send them to a Jewish school and they have to go public. Give me one reason why we SHOULD like him. What's he done for us besides cause death and aggravation for our nation?

because it was not jesus that did or even would condone any of those things.

I am jewish and I have a huge amount of respect for jesus the man.

At heart he was a man who elevated his status in life from the lowest of the low (the literal translation is not "carptenter" but "handworker" which is more likely someone doing odd jobs and handiwork outdoors), to a person with many followers.

While it is hard to justify that he was a peacefull man as he encouraged and caused riots in the temple, he did preach what he thought should be reforms within the way the religious leaders conducted things.

He never claimed to be a "christian" or anything, he was plain and simple a jew and a prophet, but not the messiah as christians claim.

He became (after his death) the figure head or poster boy for christianity (for obvious reasons).

Just as max schmeling became the poster boy for nazi superiority during WW2, however the reality is that schmeling hid jewish children in his quarters to protect them from the nazis, and recently was celebrated and given credit for doing so by one of those jewish children that he saved.

Jesus is dead, he can't defend himself or even tell people they are wrong or agree with them. You can't know what he would have said, you can only really guess, and from his actions prior to his death (he never claimed to be anything but jewish) it can only be inferred that he would not be happy with what was done in his name or image.

If not for jesus, then they would find another reason to do so, even before jesus people didn't have trouble finding reasons to persecute jews.

Well, as a Jew, don't you believe Christianity is getting more and more people to follow the Noahide Laws? Is this not a valid reason to like him--that he would gather more followers of G-d! Sure, I guess it depends on how liberal you are in your interpretation of the prohibition of idolatry; I, as a Christian, do NOT believe Jesus was G-d, and I have reservations about him being even the Son of G-d. Simply, I believe he was the Messiah (and that the remaining Messianic prophecies will be fulfilled in his second coming).

However, I am fully prepared to accept the Messiah should he show up and not be the one I am expecting, and so I wouldn't hold it against you for not accepting him, although I would ask that you give him a fair chance, and should he show up and be the one I am expecting, then I hope that you would show the same humility I am prepared to show.

Jews are not totally innocent, either. Jews and Christians are equally responsible for the extinction of the Ebionites. The Ebionites were peaceful people--Jews who accepted Jesus as the Messiah.

Many great atrocities have been committed in the name of Christianity. Jews have waged wars over disputes about who the Messiah is. With any walk of life, you cannot judge the whole by the actions of a few. To quote Cat Stevens about Islam: "When a person actually doesn't abide by the basic etiquettes of Islamic life and behaviour, you can't blame Islam, you have to look at the individual."

Most Christians today can do more to respect our Jewish and Islamic brothers and sisters.

And Jesus is not the reason your people have been persecuted--the reason is misinformation and a lack of understanding on the behalf of many so-called Christians.

Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. Unfortunately, Christians who abuse his name or don't understand him have done horrible things to Jews in his name. As a Christian, I apologize profusely for that.

Believe me, people don't need Jesus as a reason to try to murder Jews. Have you forgotten about Haman? Jesus is just a modern excuse.

Jesus healed people, both Jews and Gentiles. He's promoted worship of the Jewish God throughout the world. He has also been a bridge between Jew and Gentile in many places across the centuries. Many people respect and love Jews because of Jesus.

Look up the names Corrie ten Boom and Betsey ten Boom. They are Christians, among the "righteous Gentiles" who helped Jews during the Nazi times. They did this because they considered the Jews to be God's Chosen.

You have to remember that not everyone confessing a faith is bounded by the same amount of force to that faith. It is applicable to all faiths with no exception. Decent people know that, and they do not malign a faith despite the rotten apples in that basket but they should be pointing fingers specifically at the bad people. Jesus was a Prophet and a messenger from the One and only One Almighty God. He never asked for murdering those who do not accept him. There is no question that Jews were tormented in Europe but it was because of the utter ignorance and disregard of his message by the followers. This has happened in all faiths when the real message of the faith is ignore and the personal (i.e. national) prejudices prevailed.
No do not have to like him but because he is respected by a large part of humanity (Christians, Muslim and others), that at least you do not have to malign him with the misdeeds of his followers.

Besides the fact that a true Jewish follower would view such statements as sinful, I'll answer anyway.

You should like Jesus because He was a Jew too.

The same reason anyone esle does, Jesus saved you when he died on the cross. Jesus did not cause all of the blood shed. That was caused by people that made individual decisions to kill people because they themselves did not believe. Sad thing....

Jesus was a Jew.....

i thought jews recognized jesus as a prophet. please let me know if i'm wrong. jews have been persecuted in his name, but it was man who truly persecuted jews. i always thought he had a good message, even though i don't follow the bible. jesus had just been an excuse to horrible things like the crusades and the inquistion.
