Unless he is giving you other signs he is just saying it.

I have a girl who is a very good friend whom I say "I love you" to all the time. But it is never in a romantic way. Like she gives me notes for class or reminds me of a test I'll say "Thanks, I love you so much." And in the reverse if I drop her off she's usually say "Thanks for the ride, love you."

On the other hand there is a girl I am crazy about, who I really do love very much, I don't think I have ever said those words to her out loud even once.

I think it depends on the situation. If he says it when your feeling down to let you know that he's there for you as a friend if you need any help, then its okay. Some people say "I love you" to anyone. However, if you two are alone and he like stares into your eyes and while holding your hand says, "I love you," that would be totally odd. I think it just depends on how he does it and when he does it.

There is I LOVE YOU from the heart from a boyfriend to the girlfriend, then theres luv ya from one friend to another. It is 3 of the most said words and can be interpretted in so many ways but the way its said and the meanings are different. Does he say this to u in from of her? If you have a prob with it then confront him. If you feel odd then go to his gf and ask her advice and see if it bothers her but definetly confront him if you feel uncomfortable but be careful when you answer back as it can be misunderstood by him and he may be coming to you to answer this question....

If your "Friend" says this in front of his girlfriend and other friends then I wouldn't think of it as abnormal. If on the other hand he keeps it until you're alone then he's at it. I'm pretty sure this should really be an easy problem solved. The chances are that he's probably trying it on which is only natural really for us guys.

I tell my close guy friends I love them all the time. I truely do. If they get hurt by someone I hurt for them. I really care about them and how they feel. Do I want to have sex with them no. Just friends. Its ok to love someone as a friend.

Stay away from him. If he is telling you this while he is with someone else, then he isn't a faithful kind of guy. What will you do if you get him, then he decides to start telling another girl that he loves her. What if she gets him then?
