It can go either way just like humans different cats act different ways when they are high.

It can work both ways. It depends on if you are in the mood for a playful cat. If you have no problems with a hyper cat running around the house from time tpo time then go right ahead. However, I have a lot of cats and some of them have no reaction to theatnip.

Interestingly, not all cats are effected by catnip. It seems to be an inhereted trait. Furthermore, after they acclimate to the smell of catnip, they usually need an hour or two to "reset" before they will be effected by it again.
Basically, it makes them behave a little nuts for a few minutes. It seems to make most cats a little more aggressive, so sprinkle some on them and watch out!

It varies from cat to cat. One of my cats crashes out after eating it, another runs around the house like a spaz. Another could care less about it.

It just makes them act coocoo. A lot of cats will rub in it and purr and drool. Others will just go crazy and run and run and run. Mine just eats it.
Puppylove- it is not bad to give to cats. If it was they would not sell it. Use your head sweet heart.
Cats also love cat grass.

Some people compare it to marijuana for cats, but it's more like alcohol.
The effect varies from cat to cat. We have three, and one becomes very mellow, one becomes crazy and wild, and the other becomes angry and violent. Three types of drunks, all from the same catnip toy.

Does it matter???... the cats love it and will play with any toy that is scented with it...
Cats.... if they eat too much of it can become really nuts.. jumping and flying around and acting very strange... out of character..
We have it growing wild out here in the country... yikes
GOOD LUCK

Neither, it just makes them "high", if they are sensitive to it. Some cats will just want to roll around in it, some will get playful, some won't care.
