Sounds to me like you are run down. Try taking a course of vitamens. Some people swear by chicken soup. Boil up an organic chicken with loads of veggies, supposed to be excellent at fighting infection or you could try garlic capsules they are very good too. Obviously your Dr. isn't up to much if all he/she does is prescripe antibiotics which is really bad.

If you're a smoker, then stop. If not, try to avoid hanging around smoky places; pubs, cafes etc.

Try drinking more tea - esp. with honey (sounds simple but it can help your immunity).

...and eat:

Foods with lots of zinc (shellfish or nuts/sunflower seeds) to shorten the infections;
Foods with vitamin C to boost immunity (citrus fruits, greens, potatoes with skins);
Foods to clear the airways (garlic, chilli);
Probiotics (live yoghurts, or those 1-a-day probiotic yoghurt drinks) to balance your bacteria out.

Get Well Soon.

I had a friend like that. Her problem was she had TMJ. Her sinuses would flare up constantly...and they would drain right down into her lungs.

Also.....if I were you...I would find another doctor. Or....has your environment changed during this time? Maybe you are deeply allergic to something?? Sorry I don't have any better answers.
Good luck...and hope you get to feeling better soon.
