boot lock on my 1996 ford mondeo is sticking when i open the boot,?

lock is sticking when i open the boot, you can hear the lock opening and closing very fast (sounds like a machine gun) the only way that i have made it stop is to take the lock out and then put it back

Is it an electric boot catch? If so you probably have moisture in the terminals making the connection bad. Give the whole thing a good squirt of WD40 to drive out the water and lubricate everything

Sounds like the remote release button (switch) is sticking.
