If you are truly serious about learning I would say learn some information about it, like the internet for example, you might want to try wikipedia. Then I would enroll in a respectable TKD class in your area. Sure you might learn something from books, but there's nothing better than hands on experience. If you start learning, don't rush getting your black belt (after all any martial art is about the practice itself, not beating the snot out of the school's bully lol), take it seriously, and try your best. I wish you luck. ^-^ TKD 4 life!

The best way is to find a local Tae Kwon Do studio and sign up. There are videos out there that can teach you but, most people find it easier to learn if you actually have a class type environment, that a studio will give you. Plus there's much more room in a studio to do kicks, and exercises than I imagine you would have in your house.

The best would be to attend classes. Not only will the motivation be there but you will also be doing it with others. Personally, doing taekwon-do alone would be boring but doing with other is what makes it fun.

I have almost reached blackbelt and without being in a club, you cant truly say what level you would be at wihtout comparing yourself to others ans actually practise fighting others.

I disagree with the TKD haters. Sure there are fake TKD schools out there, but mine wasn't one of them. It took me 5 years to get my black belt. I have won many street fights with TKD. The best way to find a TKD school is to look in the yellow pages. Visit them first. If they give out black belts in 2 years or less, then they pry are just selling the belt and aren't very good.

you will learn nothing from videos.

Truthfully tkd is a suspect art. meaning most schools don't teach it to you properly. As in how to use it beyond the rules of point sparring.

Find a good school and good teacher.
