The only time i can actually find to exercise without interuption is at 5am BUT i am NOT a morning person! i get plenty of rest (i shoot for 6-8 hours a night) avoid large dinners and alcohol at night, but i STILL find it difficult to wake up that early to exercise. When i DO drag myself out of bed i still feel all sleepy and find it hard to get into any intense cardio routine. Is their any pills or lifestyle alterations I can make to turn myself into a morning person? It just seems to take so long for me to burn off that sleepy feeling in my head!

Get up or wake up about 10 minutes earlier and allow yourself that ten minutes to wake your body up. Drink a bit of water or orange juice to refresh yourself as well.

I get that too! It's terrible. Oddly enough, getting less sleep may be the solution. I found the only way I can get things done at 6 am is to wake up at like 5 and give myself some time to wake up. You could try stretching for about 5 minutes, followed by some brisk walking for another 10....anything to get you to ease into activity. Also, it seems to help a little if I drink lots of water before bed.

Perhaps your not going to bed early enough. Sometimes when people work out they need a little bit more sleep to repair. In addition you might need to alter your diet. More Whole grains and veggies, less sugar and caffiene.

Cardio equipment might help. It doesn't matter if you're sleepy when you first get on the treadmill/eliptical. Baby yourself into it, walk super slowly, and let your body do its own pace. Don't make yourself 'get into it'. Whine all you want, and increase your mph as you go.
