whats the best way to cut my own hair.
my mom won't let me go to a hair saloon and i want my hair cut.
she cut it a month ago, but i want it 3 inch's shorter then it is. please help. it's cut 3 inches below the top of my shoulders. would it work to just cut it with a mirror? or would the pony tale work? i don't know, and i don't want to ask because it would hurt her feelings becouse i don't like the cut. how do i ask her, o how do i cut it myself? and BTW i don't live in a city so i cant just get it cut. we live in the backwoods of montana.

You could just use the mirror!
One of my relatives tried cutting my hair in a ponytail but it really didn't look good.
My parents said that I looked like a "Jungle Girl"

You might try just wearing it different ways first. Braids, pony tails, whatever seems to fit your looks and the way you dress.
There are so many hair magazines and books out there. It's all a matter of personal taste.
If money isn't a big problem, you could practice cutting on a manquin head (that's what they had us practice on when I was a trainee hairdresser). Try cutting a few wigs, and then you don't mess with real people's heads.

You don't want her to know you don't like her cut, but don't you think she'll notice when you cut your own? I can't offer much advice. I've cut my own hair before, but for me, the ponytail method DID NOT work. I had to have my sister fix all the irregular ends. I'd really just be honest with her so she can help you, because it's better than having her be mad after it's done.

It's probably a really bad idea to cut your own hair.
Politely ask your mom to cut it 3 inches shorter...she shouldn't be offended. Good luck!

locate someone in your general area who can cut your hair for you. DO NOT CUT IT YOURSELF! so you don't like how your mom cut it and you dont want to ask her because it would hurt her feelings but you will go behind her back and cut it yourself? I think that would hurt her more. there is nothing wrong with being honest and telling her that you want to have it a bit shorter. ask her to do it for you in a way that says "can you please help me" not "i hate how you did it and now you gotta fix it".
bottom line: its just hair.

Do not cut your own hair. You should ask your mother can she cut 3in more off your hair. This way you are not offending her choice of style for you. It would probly hurt her feelings more if you try it yourself.
