what process must i take to obtain a canadian vehicle for us ownership?

A friend will be donating a vehicle to me..he is canadian..I am us. I understand i need documents.Which ones? how long does this take?

Look at the label on the driver's door jamb. See if it's certified to US safety and emissions standards. If it's not, you cannot import it. In that case, sell it in Canada and use the proceeds to buy a US spec car in the US.
