If you have to talk in front of your class, most likely everyone else will have to speak also. I had to take a public speaking class in college and all the other students were so nervous about having to go in front of the class themselves that I realized they weren't paying any attention to my speech. They were busy worrying about making a mistake th emselves. Because of this, I was not nervous at all. Try to appear to have confidence even if you don't. Eventually, the confidence will be real. You can do this by trying to control your speed (most people talk too fast when they are nervous), make sure you speak slowly and calmly and breathe and make eye contact with different people in the room (don't fix your eyes on one person). If you do this, everyone will think you have self confidence and know what you are doing and they will wish they will be as good as you when it is their turn! Good Luck!!!

Okay, I had this same problem. Pretend that you aren't nervous. Just think to yourself that you'll do your best and that's really what counts. What works for me is just not thinking about talking in front of all those people beforehand. I used to just concentrate on whatever had to be said. Sometimes thinking too much about the talking part will even more nervous. Just imagine that its only your friends sitting listening to you, and if you need to, practice in front of people you know.
Good Luck!

Practice in front of people you trust. Parents, siblings, friends. Also, it helps when you memorize your speech. This makes you more confident. Finally, dont be so hard on yourself. EVERYONE gets nervous before giving a speech. The trick is to pretend like your not. I know this girl who could give the best speeches. She always kept her hands slightly behind her back though because if she didnt they would shake badly. Good luck!

Try pretending the rest of the class aren't there. Speak as though your talking to one person or yourself.

sweetie, remember, beauty is only skin deep, but confidence shows on the outside and on the inside.....the best accessory you can wear is your confidence....you would rather be hated for someone that you are, rather than loved for someone you aren't.
