Considering how many "non-believers" seem to think we came from Monkeys, which Science doesn't even agree with (it's APES you dolts! and even that is now in dispute in favor a SEPARATE and DISTINCT species motif), that the universe is a COMIC CASINO that throws dice without hands, that religion should be genocided out of existance (boy, if ain't bigotry, what is -- the only other relgion that feels that way is Islam, no other religion openly advocates GENOCIDE or WIPING OUT as a means to an end, at least not by the hand of MAN), it would seem the Atheist religion is down in the teens.

Considering the Big Bang theory was postulated by a Catholic Priest with degrees in both Theology and Physics, that the Father of Geneics was a Catholic Abbot and that Einstein (a diest, who openly said he was not and atheist) said God Doesn't Play dice. It looks like religious are in the upper 140s and above.

Thankfully, God does not discriminate based on intelligence. There are probably lots of poor (and what some would claim to be less intelligent) who believe in God, but it is most likely the case because these people are more humble and in need of comfort. I guess along the same line, people with high IQs are very often prideful, selfish and anti-social. This is not always the case, but a lot of them are. Because of these characteristics they believe they can do all things by themselves and without the help of a god. So, in terms of religion, I wouldn't say the reason people with low IQs are more likely to believe in God is because of their intelligence, but that more intelligent people don't because they think they do not need a god, but can do all things on their own. It is also interesting that most serial killers have high IQs, thus suggesting they just have a tough time with society. Personally, I think IQ has little bearing on anything. If you put your mind to something you can accomplish it.

My, what a sterling example of "tolerance!"

You presume much in your question. You equate bigotry with Christianity. Yet, it is Christians who have been at the forefront of various social changes and educational movements throughout history. It was churches, and not the government, that established schools to educate the illiterate. It was churches, and not the government, who began the anti-slavery movement in the 17-1800's. Even today, Christians are against bigotry in various places, the genocide in Sudan is one example. For education, we are abandoning the indoctrination camps known as public schools in favor of homeschooling.

Home schooled students score higher on college entrance exams, as well as various state mandated assessment tests. Homeschooling is on the rise, since most public schools have quit teaching essentials, and have instead advanced social engineering instead.

Standardized test results for 16,000 home educated children, grades K-12, were analyzed in 1994 by researcher Dr. Brian Ray. He found the nationwide grand mean in reading for home schoolers was at the 79th percentile; for language and math, the 73rd percentile. This ranking means home educated students performed better than approximately 77% of the sample population on whom the test was normed. Nearly 80% of home schooled children achieved individual scores above the national average and 54.7% of the 16,000 home schoolers achieved individual scores in the top quarter of the population, more than double the number of conventional school students who score in the top quarter.

Further, it was Christians who established some of the best colleges and universities in the US.

Consider John Harvard, who bequeathed half his estate and his personal library to the college that now bears his name for the purpose, "To advance Learning and perpetuate it to Posterity; dreading to leave an illiterate Ministry to the Churches."

Consider how many highly educated people come to faith in Jesus Christ and then put that faith into action. One example is a college professor who set out to disprove Christianity. He devoted 700 hours to the project, and was left with one conclusion. He became a Christian, because the evidence demanded a verdict. He then wrote a book called "Evidence That Demands a Verdict." His name is Josh McDowell.

How about a Christian who help found Harvard Law School? His name was Simon Greenleaf. Greenleaf originally set out to disprove the biblical testimony concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was certain that a careful examination of the internal witness of the Gospels would dispel all the myths at the heart of Christianity. But this legal scholar came to the conclusion that the witnesses were reliable, and that the resurrection did in fact happen.

Yeah, all of us ignorant and uneducated Christians have such a poor understanding of justice, social issues, and a lack of knowledge and poor IQ rating. (Mine's 133. What's yours?)

Yes, depending on what you're really asking. It may be fair to say that there are certainly a great deal of people who call themselves Christians that have not actually reflected on what they claim to believe nor it's implications. Many persons who call themselves Christians are indeed biggots as well.

However, it must also be realized that there are at least just as many people who do not call themselves Christians who are both ignorant and biggots.

To ask such a "close-minded" question may show how much closer to the rest of us you are than you are willing to admit.

Nevertheless, I sincerely wish you peace, health, openness and blessings on your journey towards enlightenment as well...

Let's see??? They say the maximum measureable IQ is 200, so I say somewhere between there and 150. As for bigotry, Jesus the Christ tell us we are to love each other, so that is a moot point. By, the by, what is YOUR IQ? YBIC

This may be seen as inflammatory to many. Religion isn't really about IQ, although there is a correlation. It is theorized that it's mostly about one's ability to engage in logical thought. People below a certain level of IQ have a tough time thinking logically, and therefore will prefer magical explanations. However, intelligent people can believe in magic as well.

Intelligent people join cults all the time; one's religion isn't coincidentally the same as their parents. It's that they are subjected to years and decades of indoctrination. To base it solely on intelligence undoubtedly will be seen as crude and offensive.

Oh, those dirty, stupid Christians! Is it possible to have a conversation with someone who is so demeaning and obviously ignorant himself of the true heart of true Christians? Ask a question that allows for an actual answer.

Christians are people of all IQ levels. We are not bigots, we tolerate others, just don't want them spreading their lies.

I have a hunch about that. In fact it is an interesting question. I think christians do have to be a little "intelectually and emotionally chalenged" to follow that religion in particular, for it mostly teaches them how to act like suffering lambs.... It might be a way for them to cry out for help, or to fantasise about future greatness in spite of their present misery. They avoid frustration byy doing so. At least it is what I think.

In order for you to ask this question, you must hold that every Christian who has ever lived is dumber than you are. Is that your assertion???
