Hey guess what if you are educated you know that you can get stds and still be a virgin as if educated you know its a blood borne desease ie docotors and more so first aiders often ill equiped can get them, as you can from blood splases in the eye.

And there is rape, unwanted pregnancy as well in marriages and look at the divorce rate.

So loose that argument.

Religion is the most obsessed with sex negatively, In all its perverted moral rules and punishments ... only can't see it.

its a form of perversion to repress it, to see absteinance as a good thing when all it does is hurt

And its a means to control as the driving force of any species...

Control sex and you control people...

Hence their hate for pagans and others with open free attiudes to sex as they tend to be inviduals and less controlable whilst the more repressed are very controlable and likely to be violent

Depends on what exactly you are talking about. The Roman Catholic Church's teachings on sexual matter stem from the basic dogma of the sanctity of life and the need to respect it. The bottom line about sex (according to the RCC) is that it is an act that is to be shared within the bonds of marriage and open to the possibiliy of procreation. Sex is considered a good thing and something that is to be enjoyed and treasured and taken seriously; the church just has a specific belief about the general "where and when" of the act. The only "frustration" here is that it is a teaching that does not conform with some of the ideas of the post-modern world.

Consider that these taboos were formed when there was no birth control, no medications for STDs, 40% of children died of famine. So while there was great concern to have as many of one's own children as possible, bearing children with no parental support was taboo. Sex outside of marriage could mean carrying disease into the marriage, and/or dying of an STD, etc. Also, NT literature was heavily influenced by Greek notions that matter and therefor flesh was crude and evil and spirit was pure and good. Over the centuries the reasons for the taboos have become obscure to the adherents who when they ask for practical reasons behind these taboos are told they are "sin", i.e. God does not approve and one may not question why God does not approve. So it is no longer merely a practical matter of regulating behavior with undesirable consequences for the tribal group (still very much a practical viewpoint given unwanted pregnancies and STDs that are still incurable), but it is now an offense against the invisible, whose reason for wanting us to be frustrated is unknown but whose taboo is nevertheless to be obeyed. For some reason believers never think "God wants us to keep sex in marriage for the sake of our mental and emotional health" but instead seem to prefer to make it a moral offense for which they can despise someone.

It's not "religious people" that are obsessed with sex, it's everybody (movies, tv, news).

As far as Christians go, its not about rules, its about putting sex in it's proper place. Sex wasn't given for you to enjoy whenever and with whomever you want. It is the thing that ratifies a specific type of covenant between a man and a woman. When used inside of the covenant, it strengthens the bond and exclusivity between the 2 people. But, outside of this covenant it opens them up to the consequences like infidelity, rape, unwanted pregnancies, etc.

Because it is believed that a man would be closer and have a more spiritual bond to his higher power through the female womb and this is why Mary was so protected and revered, because it was Jesus that came from her womb and more astonishing to some, others believe that the Holy Grail was Mary herself. So; now we know why through the times that sexual content using the females body has been depicted across the world in all cultures in the form of different styles of artwork. The next time that you are engaging in a sexual act and the male says " wow that was like heaven" then by all means pat yourself on the back because he is right.

Some religions see sex as a sacred thing: a spiritual joining of people while other religions see procreation as a necessary evil:

eg) By creating babies you add to the Earth; and the Earth (not being Heaven) is unholy - which creates more unholiness.

It's a muddled world. Do as you will but harm none. That's what I say.

EVERYBODY, religious or not, is obsessed with sex.
Of all the 'drives' our body has, this one causes the most confusion, frustration, and thought. A huge amount of our culture is driven by it--- how to get it, who to get it from, how to do it, etc.
Entire industries are created in order to increase our chances of 'getting it' or increasing our pleasure with it.
Next to food, its probably the biggest obsession we have.
I doubt we actually think about food as much--- but almost everyone eats at least three times a day---Can't say the same for having sex. If you can't get food for a very long time you don't think about sex--- whereas if you can't have sex for a very long time, you probably think more about food!

PS--- Better chance of answering your actual question if you would use the right words in asking it.

When I first saw your question, I thought "Are they???" but then I read your additional details bit and thought "Oh".
Erm... I don't know.
Aha! I know. It's probably because they don't want to let people live their own lives. I'm not saying everyone should just sleep around with whoever they want to, but they should be able to make their own decisions about when they do it and who they sleep with.
It isn't just sex they place rules on - it's just about everything.
I have this theory that they want to brainwash people. Certain religions fill your head with their ideas - not your own.
It seems like another form of control to me.

I know my answer is controversial, but that's just the way I feel.

Because the religion made the rules and people are animals and instictually arent made to live under the rules. Thats the beauty of religion. It (and its creators)makes up rules no one can keep and then you get to feel guilty about it until you burn in hell. :-)
Since the "hell" part never happens though, I would expect alot of disappointed dead people, never going for the gusto and all!
Peace!
