Take the course. Not only will you be much more confident in the field, it looks good on a resume. However, if you've already got an interview, your in the door, experience on top of school is the start of being a successful bartender.

Good luck with the interview

I would say if you have an interview just go for the experience of being behind the bar. All the school is gonna teach you is how to make the drinks, its not gonna teach you the reality of customers being total idiots. It is not an easy thing to do it might look fun but it has its days. Remember...you are sober and not allowed by law to drink...they are drinking and getting drunk...it is much easier to deal with a drunk if your drinking, you will experience it from a whole new world sober

if you've never tended bar, then i would say that nothing can prepare you better than to just get behind the bar. i will say that it is not for everyone. i went there for 2 days and got sick of being cat called by guys older than my dad. as for the the class, i would say if you don't get this job that you're interviewing for, then go take the class, it's only 2 weeks. and most bars will probably look at you twice if you have classes. hope this helps! good luck!
