Do you know where I can find good info on negative effects of alcohol on the body and mind?

1 gram of alcohol contains 7 calories. Compare that to fat, which has 9 calories per gram. Protein and carbs each have 4 calories per gram.

So...in a way, it's almost like you're drinking straight fat!

Beer is generally high calorie. Last year my friend gave up beer for new years... one or two a day. He lost 35 lbs in 5 months just from that change.

Alcohol stimulates appetite and slows down metabolism and the average longneck has about 150 calories in it. You could easily drink a meal's worth of beers in about 15 minutes.

Because it's made of grains and sugar. Lots of carbs and calories in beer.
