Well just swallowing too much water won't hurt a person they will just end up peeing it out. But if you ment that they inhaled to much water they still are not at any harm because their body make them cough it up. If they did not cough it up then you need to start CPR. How to preform CPR: give 3 breaths to 1 minute of pumps, to pump place your hands just below and between the breast and push down (you will need to use some force for this) don't worry about breaking any ribs it's easy to do and easy to heal! If you are doing CPR on a child don't use both hands use only two fingers on both hands. Good Luck

I'm a little confused what you are asking. Do you mean they inhaled too much water? They will need to cough it out. If they were not coughing and/or not breathing, you would need to do CPR.

in boy scouts we use rescue brething like life gaurds use you set them down and breathe like cpr but no compressions
