Why isn't the flirty guy asking you out instead? That would be the better plan. If he asked you out you'd know that he's attracted to you. If you're really shy, it's going to be difficult enough getting through the first date. Add the awkwardness of asking the guy out....it may be too much for you to handle. Maybe the "shy girl" could purposely put herself in the position where the "flirty guy" would flirt with her. Eventually, he may start to like her and she can move in from there.
