No, it won't properly receive Spanish terrestrial broadcasts. Get a satellite freeview kit. You'll probably need a bigger dish if you're going to the far south of spain.

It might start speaking in Spanish when you bring it back to the US. Actually you'll need a power down converter ($30 from Fry's or Best Buy) plus a European wall adapter. Without the converter you'll fry your tv since one country uses 110v and the other uses 220v.

the power source is ok but the sound runs on a different frequecy so the picture will work but no sound on spanish tv (its crap anywayunless you like football )but using a sky dish no problems

It will work if you plug in a video player to the scart socket but don't guarantee a colour picture. Don't expect any reception off-air.
