I had a round of chemo and stopped two weeks ago. Yesterday before I flushed the toilet, it looked like I bled before I had urine. Is this a side effect? Should I be concerned about it? I have ovarian cancer if that would help in the explination.

Yes. This could be because your kidneys or bladder are damaged. Hemorrhagic cystitis is a serious problem related with cyclophosphamide and ifosfamide therapy. Talk to your doctor as soon as possible. Depending on your chemo, they may be able to give you other things with the chemo to protect your kidney/bladder.

I'd call my doc just to be safe. I hope the chemo stopped and killed all of your cancer. I have friends who I got on a supplement, they handled their chemo a lot better with this. They had more energy also. You can get a hold of me with questions at jmk4health@yahoo.com. Take care jim

I would contact your oncologist. I've had breast cancer myself, but never had blood in my urine after my chemo. Call the doctor right away.
