How is Minute Rice made?

I heard it was cooked rice that was extruded into the shape of grains of rice then dehydrated. I never use it but i was just curious, that sounds gross.

Minute Rice is made by boiling grains of rice, rinsing off the starch, draining it, spreading it out in a layer and dehydrating it.

Treadston is correct and YES it tastes just like it sounds -- yuck!

add water and put it in the microwave (or on the stove)
Its tasty! and fast!
