Decide if you want to rent or buy a shop

Get quotes for getting the shop done up

Buy in your product ranges and make sure your trained in all the products you are taking in such as clarins, decleor

Look at employing staff (if you wish to)

Advertise everywhere!

Register with the council for electroysis or semi permanent make up etc if you do this

You must have capital (money) Princes trust does not give much.

When I set up I had £15,000 and that was over ten years ago and I rented at first and it was a basic salon which grew I sold it for much, much more six years later.

If you are under 30 and need financial assistance, The Princes Trust has helped thousands of young people to set up their own businesses. It had a party yesterday praising their best 'graduates'.

If not, set up a meeting with your local bank manager asking for advice on a business plan. Do some research first. Your local library will definitely stock books about starting a business.

All businesses need to think about:

PRODUCT: What exactly are you selling? Who is going to provide the services?

PRICE: How much will you charge? Will they cover your costs in the first year?

PLACE: Where will your clients receive your product? Where will you source your materials?

PROMOTION: How will you advertise? Yellow Pages, local paper? Could you pull a few strings with a local printing press to get flyers produced on the cheap?

sounds like you've some large ideas already. regrettably, possessing and operating a salon takes so a lot more desirable adventure than basically understanding a thanks to do hair and make up. you even might want to draw close and comprehend the finance and employer or perhaps administration aspects. i'd propose going to varsity to get a employer or finance correct degree to comprehend all aspects of possessing a salon. If it truly is too a lot artwork, then i propose operating at a salon. You get to do all the relaxing stuff and under no circumstances might want to pressure about the employer end of it. solid success!

If you're not a qualified beautician, you may want to start with that. If you have a bit of money, Tony and Guy and Vidaal Sasoon have good fast-track training programs for hairdressing, and there are other specialities with big names. If not, you might look in salon windows for job openings (worked for me).

Try Learn Direct for more qualifications advice.

Once qualified, you could either start a job with someone near retirement (buy out a business you're familiar with and existing clientel), or go to a bank with a business plan, or start a franchise with a chain.
