i would get it , but not really because of the cost and pain, i'm 4'11, i hate being this short, im 16 yrs and 11 yr. olds r taller then me

and i'm hearing people close to my height r getting this surgery too, even though theyre not really 'midgets', ALTHOUGH 4'11 is just ONE INCH close from a 'midget', which is Embarressing (midgets 4'10 and under)

Although I cannot speak from experience, reading real life diaries from people across the world may help you decide whether the surgery is right for you. http://makemetaller.info has a lot invaluable information, especially the free members only diary section.

I hope this helps you and wish you good luck!

One of my best friends (aged 31) has just gone through this operation...she only had it on one leg, which was much shorter than the other...
She says it was worth the pain and patience... It took about ten months to lengthen the leg to the same level as the other one. For all that time she was bed-ridden at home, with only the periodic visits to the hospital, to check the process was coming along properly. Right now she still has a limp due to adhesions on the knee, and she will need one more operation to correct that, but she is still quite happy with the results.
You may have to wait a while, until you have reached full maturity (I think that's around 22 yrs. old).
Get more than one doctors opinion, and make up your mind once you are sure... (you'll need to see an endochrinologist, a traumatologist and also a surgeon)
Good luck
(But remember...the best things come in small packages!)
I have a godson who at full maturity is only 5 ft. 2... And he has a great life, lovely girlfriend and a good job!... (Also his mom is only 4'11...and she is one of the most beautiful women I know and her father was no taller than she is!)
If your body does not grow much more, you yourself can grow in mind and spirit...keep that in mind and in your heart.
