Absolutely perfectly true. In most cases, it's harmless enough, but in 7% of humans, acute appendicitis occurs and the appendix has to be removed or they'll die from fervor, I mean, fever.

According to the Bible-based book/movie "Left Behind" (starring Kirk Cameron), removal of "religion" via the Rapture sends "humanity" into utter chaos, anarchy, and moral decay.
Remove of the "appendix" is completely harmless to the "human body".
So either Left Behind has it all wrong...or you do.
