His father treats him like **** and has even emotionally and verbally abused huim before where it left him (my boyfriedn) in tears i want to help but i dont realyy know what to say or do helpp

You can't change the relationship between your boyfriend and his father, but you can tell him privately afterwards that you disagree with what his father said to him, you're sorry to see him treated like that, and here's everything that's good about him. Counterbalance the verbal abuse with constant ego-building.

Get your boyfriend into counseling if you can. Sometimes these young men grow up to "become" their fathers if they don't come to terms with that abusive behavior.
If the father is awful because he drinks, alanon might be a good start. If money is an obstacle, you might start with the county mental health agencies for a referral.
That's really big stuff, that kind of abuse. It's really hard to overcome it without some kind of professional help.
Bad people can make bad people out of really nice people.

Give your boyfriend a ******* everytime that happens to him. Better yet when his Dad starts treating him like ****...........Do it in front of him!

your boyfriend need to stand up for himself.. dont get in it .. it doesnt concern you... you wouldn't like your boyfriend to get into your family issues
