Hi, im not a parent of an autistic child but i work with two boys with autism in their own homes. Maybe you could talk to your health vistor and ask if you are entitled to some respite, then you can have someone round to help with your son and while they are there they can chat to you too. Also you could look into sending your son to a specialist play group, you may even be entitled to the transport there via taxis.
Please email me if you want to chat.
good luck
xx

hi, i work with autistic children so i know where your coming from. unfortunately i dont live near you, i live in the north west of england. has he started school yet? my school takes children from 2 years and believe me the sooner the better. get in touch with your health visitor to sort schools out. you can then meet up with other mums and share problems. our school has an earlybird meetings for parents and carers with autistic children. this helps train you and lets you understand your child. find out if the school has this in place too.
the sooner your son is in school you will see a big change in him he will settle down into a routine which is what he needs.
i wish i could help you more but if you ask a question about autism i will answer it for you as best as i can x
