When my hubby first moved to the area (of course, before we were married), I went to his apartment. He had litterally nothing in his apartment, but I'd promised to make him dinner. I couldn't find a single thing. All he had was a crockpot and some macaroni and cheese, stuff that comes in a can, etc. So I ran down to the local grocery store (pathetically small in the tiny town we were in) and couldn't find anything. We ended up making chicken noodle soup in a crockpot (takes FOREVER) and having brownies (out of a box). It was awful, but he didn't think it was too bad. He married me in spite of it all!

Tuna casserole. It was nasty. I had never cooked before so, I made Kraft Macaroni & Cheese and just added a can of tuna. Gee, I couldn't even boil water when we got married. We had a friend eat with us every night and I made this alot. Funny thing is that every night when we sat down to eat the same song would come on the radio. The song was as bad as my cooking. We would all start laughing and singing it. (mamma mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go-an old opera sounding rock song).
For 30 years I make it this way now:
8 oz cooked, drained egg noodles
2 cans (6 1/2 oz) tuna, drained or fresh steamed tuna
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3/4 cup milk
1 can sliced mushrooms (3 oz), drained
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper.
Stir all that together and pour into an ungreased 2 quart casserole dish.
Mix:
2 Tbs melted butter
1/4 cup Itallian bread crumbs (Progresso), or plain
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
Sprinkle that on top and bake in a 350 degree oven , uncovered, for about 35/40 minutes.

I took the food, put it into a bowl, and added some water so it would make it's own gravy. Hey, I'm single right now...all I have is a dog.
Hrmmm...one young lady, I made fudge for. some nice peanut butter. She was so impressed, she called her sister right then and there. Alas, the fudge ran out, and so did the love.
Another one, first meal was sloppy joes. Of course, she left me for a friend of mine, so avoid that one. It's also not that tasty.
Pounded chicken breast stuffed with...err...stuffing. Light brown sauce for topping, and some nice sides. I think we dated so long because she had trouble boiling water, and enjoyed eating food that didn't come out of a box.
Pizza! Argument over mushrooms spelled the end of THAT relationship...she thought how they were grown was sick. Good thing I didn't tell her how they make the bacon, pepperoni, and sausage she loves...
Mac and cheese. Back when I was in college. Last date, too, and to tell the truth, I DON'T blame her.
Mix 1/3 can cream mushroom soup with ground beef, add bread crumbs to make it firm, form into patties, and cook off. Afterwards, add the rest of the soup and 1/2 can of water for a nice gravy. I got to keep the cat that time, so it ended pretty well as far as I am concerned.
Cookies. Pity she never told me she was on a strict diet to lose weight...apparently I'm "insensitive". They were pretty good, too...nice macaroons.
You know...I might actually not be the best person to answer this, come to think on it...
But man...the fudge was KILLER...

I made pasta (raviolli) with a specially powered tomatoe sauce capable of perforating anyone's stomach. Thanks god that was long ago and I am a great cook now. I dont think you would be interested in the recipe for that sauce, :)
However i can give you a more "normal" version of it to be made.
Here it goes
Ingredients
2 cans of plum tomatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
3 large vidalia onions sliced thin
1 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup of oregano
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup of fresh basil
Preparation
In a large pot, heat oil on medium temperature. Add the vidalia sliced onions, till they caramelize. Add the 2 cans of plum tomatoes breaking them up in the pot with a wooden spoon. Add salt, pepper, water, oregano and basil. Cook for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours on low heat. Cook whatever kind of pasta you like. Pour sauce over pasta top with pecorino romano cheese, ground black pepper or red hot crushed pepper. Enjoy!!!! Serves 4.

well it was over 50 years ago but I think I can still remember, It was awful I wanted to make breaded pork chops with mashed potatoes and corn, but I did not know how to cook I was only 18 and back then you should have been able to cook but I was to busy riding horses,s to learn to cook any way I spoiled every thing I burnt the chops and the potatoes were not done and I think I burned even the corn, but my husband sat down and ate every thing and told me how good it was and I cried, until today he will tease me about that first dinner, and that,s why I am still married to this wonderful man.
