I'm sure it's possible, but you're wife would probably give you an earfull if you did!

Why not just get a bottle opener?

You absolutly can. I use mine in this manner all the time. Tungsten carbide is incredibly strong and very difficult to scratch. Opening a beer bottle is no problem.

If you drop it onto a hard surface it can break though, that strength means they can be quite brittle.

I wouldn't try it...it's a lot easier and a lot cheaper to drive to the nearest hardware store or supermarket and buy an opener.
