i was told to try doing chair dips to prepare for Basic Training.

Sit on the edge of a chair or bench.. Place your hands on either side of you hips and your legs out in front of you, knees slightly bent. Lower your body straight down off the bench and keep your arms back and at a 90 degree angle, using your triceps to lift back up. It will make your triceps burn!

sit in a wooden or non comfy chair so that your knees are at a right angle, hold onto the front of the seat with both hands on either side of you legs/butt. scoot your butt off the seat so that your holding yourself up on your hands and your still in a sitting position. dip down a little bit and rise back up
its like a push up for your triceps.

It's like a pushup. The palms of your hand at the corners of the chairs. Forces you to go further. Be careful. Stretchmarks. Have a look at this before you do:
