Thank you all for responding to my question..you all had very good ideas..it was difficult for me because I am pretty attached to her and she is so sweet..I want you all to know I went to my neighbor for help and they were kind enough to take her to the pound for me as I do not have a car...I can pay them..because I was so upset . It was gracious of them to help me and Patches like that..there are good people out there...on a lesser note..I really appreciate the answer from someone saying I should go to prison for animal abuse...you are critical and judgmental..I wouldn't give you a healthy dog..let alone otherwise...you lack compassion.

There are quite a few people out there that are just plain cruel.
They didn't help you at all, they just made matters worse.

I am glad that you have neighbors like that and I am sure that you have lost a heavy weight off your shoulders. Loosing a dog is one of the hardest things in the world. I am sorry for your loss, you have my sympathy.

Now you can go on with the grieving process knowing that you did the best you could and that she is finally at peace.

Don't carry any guilt, you did the very best thing for her.

Again, I am, oh so, sorry. I have been there and I know how you are feeling.

Blessings

Well legally you should go to prison. I didn't read that post you are mentioning, but failing to provide medical care for an animal in your care is against the law and considered animal cruelty. And if she was in your care for 6 months as you say, the law would have an EXCELLENT case against you and you probably would get a fine at the least. In fact, humane officers may investigate now that the animal is at a shelter. Most shelters have these officers so you maybe getting a call in the next few days once they get medical information back.

If you couldn't afford to take the dog, you shouldn't have and given it to somone who could.

It is the single most hardest thing I've even had to do... You showed true compassion and caring for the dog and doing the right thing. We often let our own feeling for our pets get in the way of know when it's time. Bless you and grieve away. It will get better... Best of luck

I'm glad to hear that you decided to give the animal up! It may have been hard, but it's for the good of the dog!

Think of it this way. Would you want to be taken to the hospital, even though you couldn't afford it, if you were leaking from both ends, and couldn't get up?

Your very welcome. God bless you for doing that. Good to know there are still people that will go to any lengths to help their friend.
