Can be 2 things. If you are working out as well you might be gaining muscle which weighs more than fat. And/or watch those calories. If you are taking in more than expending you will gain weight.

Have you cut down on calories intake? The key here is not just the reduction in fat or "junk". A balanced diet is what you need to achieve weight loss. Schedule a meal plan for yourself. Roughly 5 meals a day with the heaviest one at breakfast time. Your intake of food should decline as the day progresses. Follow the "healthy food pyramid". In any given meal, you should have the most fiber or grains-related food items such as rice, wheat, oatmeal, fruit, etc. The next layer is your proteins such as eggs, lean chicken, fish, etc. The next one up is red meat. And the last one on the top is snacks. In other words, you should try to, for each meal, have the most fibre and least fatty items such as meat. The cooking method also matters. Try not to use excessive oil, salt, sugar, or dressings. A spoonful of mayo is equivalent to the same amount of oil. So don't think eating salad with dressing will help. It's just going to make you fatter. When I say 5 meals, I don't mean an actual balanced meal all the time. For example, meal #2 and meal #4 can be plain fruit or raw vegetables such as carrots, or even a piece of whole wheat bread. You want to eat more often and with just a reasonable amount for each meal because you want to get the metabolism going and don't want to stuff yourself up like a turkey. And for the last meal, you should consume it more than 4 hours before you sleep. Your body takes at least that time to digest the food. And the more you eat before turning in will mean more fat being stored. Without a doubt, the healthier the food, the less tasty it is. But remember: No Pain No Gain. You need to sacrifice. And regular exercising will definitely help burn up your fat.
One final word of advice. Eat a fruit rather than drinking fruit juices. Your body absorbs more sugar in liquid form.
In 1997, I lost more than 50 pounds (healthily) in 3 months. I counted every single calorie I took in and with some regualr exercise, I saw the results pretty quickly.
Good Luck.

Your still taking in calories. Eating health doesnt mean you can go out and eat a family size bag of vegetables and not gain anything. If you want to eat that way you need to start working out then. Even workouts as little as 25-30 mins 2 to 3 times a week will make a big differents.

You are gaining weight b/c of exercise that builds muscle and muscle is heavier than fat. Also you may be eating to much and and not enough times per day. You should be eating 5 or 6 small meals a day about 2 1/2 or 3 hours apart and not after 8 p.m.

Monitor how many calories you are eating per day. The key to weight loss is to watch how many calories you are eating and to exercise regularly. At least 30 minutes of cardio three times a week and strength training 2 times a week.
Sparkpeople.com is a free website that has a calorie counter and the book "You on a Diet" has great information about how your body works.
Also, remember muscles weighs more than fat, but burns more calories!

Good for you for eating healthy. I don't blame you for being discouraged. Exercise will obviously help both weight and health, but the bottom line is you can't lose weight unless you're eating less calories than you burn.
So, take a look at both calories and fat in your new diet. I don't believe in the extreme fad diets like Atkins, but the Zone diet seems to be realistic and something you can apply to your diet for good. It emphasizes a good balance between fat, carbs and protein.

To gain weight, you burn less calories than you take in. The extra calories are stored as fat. If you want to stop gaining, you will have to eat less or exercise more.
