I dont want to do fad dieting because Im good at cutting out the foods that are bad for me. I know you shouldnt overdo ANY food...but cheese is tricky to me. I only eat it once in a while, but when I get home...I do my excercising and stop eating after 7:00pm. Is it okay to have it once in a while? Just not often?

It is fine to eat cheese. The cheese has essential nutrients and vitamins and has protein. I would recommend purchasing either types of cheese that are naturally low in fat or buy low fat cheese. The important thing is to keep you daiy fat intake for the day in line with the guidelines for the amount of calories you need for the day. Follow the 2000 calorie diet as is explained on the side of all products you buy. You can also get a guide for the dietary make-up of deli products at the deli counter. I recommend going with Boar's Head stuff. They have no fillers or additives and they have a great take-home brochure that gives the dietary make-up of all of their products.

its good to have cheese once in a while and now there are tons of cheeses out there that are lower in calories and fat .. if your not sure about regular cheeses you could try what Kraft has come out with which are 2% and fat free cheeses im not sure exactly how the fat free taste but i tried the 2% and they are just as good as the regular cheese if not better .. and cheese is good for you rather dieting or not ... the calcium is a good benefit and you should get milk cheese and other dairy products in your diet atleast one to 3 times aday and its been found that dairy products actualy help you loose weight ...

+Cheese is a great food item because of the vitamin D and Calcium , its also a great snack and "tidbit" to enjoy before a meal with some grapes , to curb your appetite. The "hard"cheese's are usually the lowest fat,but the low fat variety can be found in most all brands. The "South Beach" diet book recommends this food as a snack and for dessert. Enjoy it and continue to loose wt. SW RNP

Eat all the cheese you like.

However, just don't cut the cheese in an elevator - people may look at you funny.

Any food in moderation is OK. The key to eating healthy to lose weight is to monitor your calorie intake and exercise regularly. You should reward yourself every once in a while and eat something you enjoy.

Of course it's ok. I would not eat it all the time. Go a head & treat your self. Have some once a month. It won't hurt your diet. Hope this helps you.

yes, it is okay sometimes. look at the ingredients, healthy cheese has less added oils, starches, and preservatives. if you are going to splurge on some cheese, make it real cheese, Munster is unique and very good, Parmesan is fairly healthy, avoid "American cheese".
